One of the things that places progressive rock in a unique position within all the modern formats and genres of rock music is its diversity. It's also constantly surprising.. "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.." Which all you Rush fans will know means “The more it changes, the more it’s the same thing.”

This seems to be the premise of great progressive rock. Ever changing, ever cccc and yet somehow consistent, consistent quality, musicianship and inspiration. This Prog Rock Mix is no different. This mix is predominantly made up of some classics, old tracks that you'll recognise immediately and some that may have passed you by.

This project, which I have called ProgAxia has helped me to realise that when you sit down and put some thought into creating a prog rock mix, that there is so much amazing music to choose from. Bands that only existed for a moment in time and those that have been with us for decades.

So put those headphones on, or put this mix through your best sound system and sit back, relax and soak up this wonderful music..
